A: ONLY students currently enrolled and SIM Members may access the library facilities and services.
How do I get some information about the SIM libraries before I visit them?

How do I update my particulars with the SIM library?
A: You may update your contact details such as your address, phone numbers and email address at the SIM Members’ Hub or Student Portal.

How many books may I borrow at one time?
A: SIM Members and students can borrow up to a maximum of 6 books at one time.
What is the loan duration for the library books?
A: The loan duration of the books vary. Click here for more information.
May I borrow the Recommended Course Collection (RCC)?
A: Yes, you may borrow the RCC collection which comprises prescribed texts for up to four hours during the day; you may also borrow it overnight, and also for the weekend.

Can a non-student borrow a book from the RCC or Course Collection?
A: Books belonging to these two collections may be borrowed ONLY by current SIM students.
Can I borrow Periodicals from the library?
A: Periodicals are ONLY for reference in the library. However, you may make a photocopy of one article or 10% from a periodical. Singapore Copyright Act 1987.
How do I access past years’ examination papers?
A: Past years’ examination papers are ONLY available at the Student Portal. If you do not find the relevant papers, please contact your Programme Coordinator.

e-Resources
Can I access the e-Resources available at the library website from my home or office?
A: Yes, SIM Members and students need to log in via the Members’ Hub and Student Portal respectively to access the e-Resources.
Q: How do I learn to use the online databases; and search for e-journals and e-books available at the library website?
A: SIM library conducts regular training sessions on effective search skills to groups and on one-to-one basis. Details relating to the scheduled group sessions can be found at the Student Portal.

May I renew my library books online?
How can I place a reservation for an item(s) that is/are on loan? How do I know when the reserved item(s) is/are ready for collection?
A: You can reserve item(s) online via the Online Library Catalogue. Library staff will inform you through phone call or by email as to when the reserved item(s) is/are ready for collection.
Reserved books need to be collected within three working days from the date of allocation. You can check reservation status online at ‘My Library Account’. Click here to view video.

How do I pay overdue fines?
A: You can pay your overdue fines at the SIM library counter. Payment can be made in Cash, through CashCard or NETS.
Are photocopying services available at the SIM libraries?
A: Yes, CashCard operated self-service photocopier machines are available at both locations.
How do I print a document at the SIM libraries?
A: You may print from any of the PCs located in the library using your CashCard and EZ-Link card. You may collect your printout in the photocopy room.
Is there a CashCard top-up service available at the library?
A: A self-service CashCard top-up machine is available in the photocopy room. Top-up can only be done using NETS.
